Host a Fundraising Event

Use your love of animals with a sprinkle of creativity and a dash of drive to make an impact! Organize your own fundraiser and engage your friends and family to support dogs and cats in need.

First, check out these ideas or think up your own!

  • Host a fundraiser on social media for your friends, fans, and followers
  • Lead a push to get friends and family to follow @sbhumane on social media
  • Choose items off the wish list or collect donations for your birthday
  • Sweeten up the neighborhood with a lemonade stand or bake sale
  • Get creative by making dog or cat toys or treats; Bring them to the shelter or consider a sell-one-donate-one model
  • Auction off your arts & crafts masterpieces
  • Honor an employee’s accomplishments with a gift in their name
  • Introduce $5 Fridays where every team member who contributes $5 can enjoy a benefit (How about Casual Friday? A dessert? Latte? A long lunch?)
  • Spark a friendly competition for your team to raise funds individually or among friends
  • Boost an inter-office or inter-company rivalry with a game, event, or contest benefiting animals
  • Crown the Cutest Office Pet with a pet photo contest
  • Get together to beautify the campuses or spend time with animals at the shelter with a volunteer day. Minimum donation, terms & conditions apply
  • Organize a pub crawl or winery tour of your location, or team up with another spot for a traveling taste test
  • Raise a glass to animals in need with a special Wine Club gathering, either virtual or in-person
  • Make a Happy Hour a “Yappy Hour” to support animals in need
  • Host a fundraiser on social media for your friends, fans, and followers

  • Challenge yourself to reach a new goal with your own walk, run, bike, or hike sponsored by friends and family
  • BYOB (Bring your own bubbles) for your own neighborhood dog wash
  • Take the stage with a concert or comedy show
  • Auction off your artistic masterpieces
  • Keep animals cozy with a knitting campaign (beds, blankets, sweaters, accessories – the opportunities are vast!)
  • Lead the way with a letter-writing campaign to encourage your circle to get involved
  • Wow the world with an adorable ‘plus one’ by bringing a social shelter dog for a Doggie Day Out. Minimum donation, terms & conditions apply

  • Amp up the competition with a sporting event, game, or tournament
  • Roll the dice with a game night or trivia showdown
  • Don your best costume for a themed dinner party
