Foster an Animal

Interested in becoming a foster volunteer?

If you have room to temporarily share your home and heart with a shelter animal, please let us know! Animals most commonly placed into foster care are cats with nursing litters, kittens 6-8 weeks of age, and animals recovering from medical procedures. Fostering is a great way for children, college students, and people with busy travel schedules to help homeless animals and SB Humane covers all expenses, including food, supplies, and medical care.

Simply complete the application below. We contact potential foster volunteers as the need arises and someone will be in touch if we have an animal that’s a good match for your household.

PLEASE NOTE: Santa Barbara Humane does not offer drop-in day foster for our shelter dogs. If you’re interested in dog walking, please consider joining our volunteer team
