If you have found an animal:
Please note: Before you take a healthy stray cat to the shelter, consider this: fewer than 5% of impounded “lost” cats are returned to their owners. Most stray cats are not lost, and studies show that more than 70 percent of stray cats actually live in the neighborhood. Santa Barbara Humane is aligned with the National Animal Control Association’s policy that healthy free-roaming cats should not be taken to shelters where they will experience stress, be exposed to illness, and contribute to overcrowding.
