Ask About Me
Hi there! My name is Flash and I'm an 6 month old Male Terrier Mix currently living at the Santa Barbara Campus, eager for a new home!
We sincerely apologize. Instead of uploading Flash's adoption post, someone accidentally uploaded their self-insert The Flash fanfiction. We tried to find the real caption, but apparently this was the only draft.
Nobody at STAR Labs understood why the alarms had gone off that morning. Barry kept insisting it was another metahuman, Cisco had already built three different gadgets that probably violated several laws of physics, and Harrison Wells was halfway through an ominous speech about destiny when the doors quietly slid open.
Standing there was..you. Nobody knew your name, where you came from, or why every member of Team Flash immediately trusted you without asking a single question.
Barry thought you seemed kind. Iris somehow knew you had "a good heart.!" Cisco decided you were his new best friend within thirty seconds.
The only one who didn't seem remotely surprised was Flash. The tiny six-month-old Terrier mix trotted straight past the entire crew, climbed into your lap like he'd been doing it his whole life, and looked up at you with the kind of expression usually reserved for season finales and wildly out-of-character declarations of love. Barry quietly nodded. Cisco started crying for reasons no one could adequately explain. Harrison removed his glasses, looked directly into the middle distance, and said that perhaps the Speed Force had been bringing the two of you together all along. Nobody questioned this. Nobody ever would.
This fic currently has 18 chapters, 42,000 words, and exactly one comment that just says, "omg update soon!!!"
Fortunately, unlike the fanfiction, Flash is actually real. He's playful, curious, unbelievably sweet, and still waiting for the person who's destined to wander into his story.
Like all animals at Santa Barbara Humane, before going home I will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption also includes a complimentary post-adoption health exam with a participating local veterinary clinic as well as a supply of Hill's Science Diet food to help make my first few days at home a little easier.
If you're ready to welcome me or another animal into your family, stop by during adoption hours—daily from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., except Wednesdays. No appointment or advance notice is required!
Need to pick up a few essentials before heading home? Visit the retail center at either Santa Barbara Humane campus, where you'll find toys, treats, collars, leashes, and more at competitive prices. Every purchase helps support the animals in our care and the programs that serve pets and people throughout our community. We hope to see you soon!
