Hello! My name is Max, and I'm available for adoption at Santa Barbara Humane's Santa Maria Campus! I am a 7 1/2 year old male ready for my next adventure.

Max is a handsome Australian Shepherd with energy for days and a heart full of love! He’s happiest when he’s getting attention, going for walks, or playing with his favorite toys. If you’re looking for an older but still active, fun-loving companion who’s always ready for the next adventure, Max is your guy!

Like all animals at Santa Barbara Humane, before going home I will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped​. My adoption also includes a complimentary post-adoption health exam with a participating local veterinary clinic as well as a supply of Hill's Science Diet food to help make my first few days at home a little easier.

If you're ready to welcome me or another animal into your family, stop by during adoption hours—daily from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., except Wednesdays. No ​appointment or advance notice is ​r​equired!

Need to pick up a few essentials before heading home? Visit the retail center at either Santa Barbara Humane campus, where you'll find toys, treats, collars, leashes, and more at competitive prices. Every purchase helps support the animals in our care and the programs that serve pets and people throughout our community.
